Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack - Proto Fleet

Proto is accelerating the world's transition to an open economy with products that increase access and independence for everyone. The Role

Proto's vision is to contribute to the health of the bitcoin network by decentralizing both the supply of mining hardware and the distribution of hashrate. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader in realizing this vision through architecting and leading the development of our core mining infrastructure platform.

You Will

• Architect and lead mission-critical mining infrastructure systems
• Design scalable APIs and protocols for bitcoin miner fleet management
• Establish engineering standards and drive technical decisions
• Lead architecture for real-time monitoring and control systems
• Design and implement responsive web interfaces for mining operations
• Optimize front-end performance and user experience
• Create intuitive dashboards and control panels for fleet management
• Develop integration frameworks for mining hardware and tools
• Mentor engineers and provide cross-team technical leadership
• Define mining system interfaces with hardware teams
• Drive technical planning for major platform initiatives
• Lead architecture reviews and technical deep dives
• Shape technical strategy with leadership
• Review external contributions while maintaining quality
• Balance security considerations with transparency
• Guide effective AI tool usage for development

You Have

• 8+ years professional software development experience
• Expert knowledge in Go, Typescript, or equivalent languages
• Strong proficiency in modern front-end technologies (React, Vue.js, or Svelte)
• Experience with responsive design and progressive web applications
• Experience with modern front-end build tools and optimization techniques
• Proven leadership in complex technical initiatives and architecture
• Deep expertise in distributed systems design
• Strong background in API design and real-time system architecture
• Experience building large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure at scale
• Track record of mentoring and developing engineers
• Experience designing transactional and analytical databases
• System design skills focused on scalability, reliability, and performance
• Experience implementing secure authentication systems at scale
• Ability to drive technical excellence in fast-paced environments
• Open source project contribution or maintenance experience
• Strong technical documentation and community engagement skills
• Understanding of open source security best practices
• Track record of building inclusive technical communities
• Proficiency integrating AI tools into development workflows
• Familiarity with bitcoin mining hardware and protocols (preferred)
