This week, Amrita Ahuja, Foundational Lead at Block, joined Goldman Sachs' 2026 Communacopia + Technology Conference for a fireside chat on Block’s business momentum, operating model, and priorities for growth across Square and Cash App. The conversation, moderated by Goldman Sachs’ Will Nance, covered how Block is continuing to invest across its ecosystem, deepen customer engagement, and bring more discipline and focus to the way teams build and operate.

Amrita emphasized Block’s investment approach, emphasizing that the company is focused on funding high-conviction opportunities while holding itself accountable to clear returns, margin expansion, and operating leverage. As she put it, “We don’t see it as a tradeoff between investment and growth.” She also underscored the company’s progress against that framework, noting that Block has raised its adjusted operating income guide by $770 million since November and is growing adjusted EPS 70% this year while continuing to invest in profitable growth.

The conversation also touched on the company’s shift toward an intelligence-led organization, including using AI to improve how teams work, make decisions, and build products. Amrita described the organizational change as a way to fundamentally rethink how Block operates, with fewer layers between the people setting strategy and the teams building products. Looking ahead, she pointed to continued opportunity across Cash App, Square and Block’s broader ecosystem as the company focuses on faster execution and durable growth.

Highlighting Neighborhoods as an example of the connective tissue Block can build between its ecosystems, Amrita discussed how the program is helping Square sellers reach more buyers while giving Cash App customers more places to spend, earn, and engage.

“We have hundreds of millions of buyers who walk into our Square sellers. Many of those are not active within the Cash App system. In fact, what we’ve seen so far from a Neighborhoods standpoint is that 50% of Neighborhoods followers were not active on Cash App in the last 30 days prior to signing up for Neighborhoods ,” she explained. “The opportunity to expose these people to Cash App with a true value proposition, where you can spend Local Cash, you can earn, and then spend that Local Cash at a local Square seller, is incredible from an actives growth perspective for Cash App.”
