This week, Cash App rolled out a new safety feature designed to give parents and guardians even more visibility into their teens' financial activities. The new feature will now alert sponsors whenever their teen engages in a first time peer-to-peer (P2P) transaction with a new contact.
Empowering Sponsors with Real-Time Insights
As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a safe financial environment for teens and their families, this new notification system serves as an additional layer of protection. Sponsors will receive immediate alerts when their teen sends or receives money from a new contact for the first time, allowing them to stay informed about their teen's financial network.
How It Works
When a teen initiates or receives a payment from a new contact, their sponsor will automatically receive a notification. From there, sponsors have the ability to report that new contact, and/or block that new contact from interacting with their teen in future. This real-time alert system helps sponsors:
Building Trust Through Transparency
This feature represents another step in Cash App's mission to combine financial education with robust safety measures. By providing sponsors with timely notifications, we're fostering open conversations about financial responsibility while maintaining teens' growing independence in managing their money.
