Block, Inc. views bitcoin as an instrument of global economic empowerment; it is a way for individuals around the world to participate in a global monetary system and secure their own financial future. Starting with our bitcoin purchase in 2020, we hold bitcoin as an investment on our corporate balance sheets. We’ve chosen to open source the documentation behind our bitcoin investment strategy to clearly articulate the process as others consider similar moves.
