The Indigenous Growth Fund, an investment fund structured as a limited partnership, enables Indigenous Financial Institutions to expand their lending to Indigenous entrepreneurs and their small to medium-sized businesses across Canada. The National Aboriginal Capital Corporations Association is the Fund Manager, the first Indigenous Fund Manager in Canada. In 2022, Block became IGF’s first private corporate investor with a $3M CAD commitment. The organization’s $153M investment fund provides improved access to capital for Indigenous Financial Institutions (IFIs) and Indigenous small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), helping them overcome some of the barriers they have historically faced. In the 2023 fiscal year, the IGF committed $82.3M in capital to seven IFIs and deployed $43.4M to IFIs with $35.4M in loan principal working in Indigenous businesses.
