The Role

We are looking for a Principal Content Designer to join our OS Messaging team.

The Operating System (OS) team at Cash App takes a horizontal view of the Cash App. They raise the ceiling of Cash App by defining and governing the overarching product experience, ensuring our customers experience a high quality, intuitive app. They do this through the definition of next generation experiences and governance of CashOS. This team is part innovators, part systems thinkers. OS is an exciting environment at the center of Cash app’s future and we are seeking an imaginative and driven content designer to join our growing team.

This content designer will ensure that the magic of the Cash App brand is felt through the conversation we have with our customers. They will evolve and govern our Cash App voice, craft messaging guidelines, design the componentry for our messages, and educate other teams at Cash App on best practices. They will push the boundaries of our verbal identity, exploring what we can achieve and help us create one of the most resonant products in the world. 

You Will

  • Ensure a seamless conversation with the customer across all customer experience touchpoints.
  • Think in multiple time horizons. You are able to pursue creative, bold ideas that challenge the status quo others have set, and also execute on quick-turn iterative changes to content.
  • Partner with Marketing and other Product teams to ensure the messaging system aligns with their goals and platform-specific nuances.
  • Concept, design, write content across all stages of the customer journey, pressure testing our messaging and voice. Always feeding learnings back into the evolution of  Cash App’s verbal identity.
  • Use insights and metrics to drive forward decisions with strong instincts on when to follow your intuition and take calculated risks.

You Have

  • 8+ years experience in content strategy, UX writing, content design (or whatever you happen to call it)
  • Extensive experience working on zero to one projects and iterating on well-established, core experiences
  • Strong UX capabilities and writing competency, including information architecture, systems-design, content research, content management, and surface writing
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, as well as the ability to align teams and stakeholders around a shared vision.

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
