Senior Brand and Interactive Designer, Bitkey/Proto

Proto is accelerating the world's transition to an open economy with products that increase access and independence for everyone. We're building Bitkey, a simple and safe self-custody bitcoin wallet that will put customers in control, as well as hardware and software that will help decentralize bitcoin mining and enable new and innovative use cases for bitcoin mining. The Role

Two of Block’s newest products are focused on accelerating the world’s transition to a more open economy. Bitkey, a self-custody bitcoin wallet, and Proto, a line of revolutionary bitcoin mining products, are uniquely positioned to increase financial access and independence for people all over the world. Block has brought together a single team to span both products. A guiding principle for the Bitkey/Proto team is to build in the open. That means open development, show and tell, share and iterate. We are looking for a senior interactive designer to join the Bitkey/Proto team. Ideally you are someone who is proactive, who finds opportunities to contribute and who sees possibilities where others only see limitations. Due to the dynamic nature of our product offering, deliverables, content, strategy and directions are often in flux.

As a senior brand & interactive designer you will be a design leader, contributing to brand and marketing strategy and design across both Bitkey and Proto.

You Will

• Create engaging, polished design directions that are strategically aligned with business objectives
• Seek out information, direction and insights to support your work
• Bring fresh ideas, perspectives and directions to the table
• Guide projects forward even when missing content, direction or assets
• Establish consistency across multiple touch points
• Seek opportunities to improve and extend the brands wherever possible
• Collaborate with team-members to level up design across the team and across Block
• Represent Proto as an important member of the Block Creative design community
• Deliver world class creative work and campaigns from strategy to execution across multiple channels with impact throughout the entire customer funnel

You Have

• At least (7) years of relevant professional experience
• A portfolio that showcases work you were directly responsible for creating
• Experience as a primary contributor to multiple high-impact projects
• In-depth knowledge of Figma, including the ability to create and leverage system elements, such as components and variables
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and other design tools
• Ability to consider, define and utilize user journeys and UX thinking to inform design decisions 
• Informed taste based on a deep knowledge of design principles, trends and best practices
• A drive and ability to create world-class brand experiences
• A willingness to push projects forward in spite of ambiguity
• Supplemental, supporting skills, such as motion design, 3D, photography, copywriting or illustration
