Every August, thousands of professionals dedicated to protecting children gather in Dallas, TX for the annual Crimes Against Children Conference (CACC), hosted by the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. This year, Block was proud to sponsor the conference and deepen our partnership with the law enforcement and nonprofit community working on the frontlines.
Block team members from our Compliance and Policy teams attended the conference. Together, they presented “Financial Intelligence: Cash App's SAR and CyberTipline Reporting” in two sessions led by Alek Dvoskin (Global Intelligence Lead), Tony Vallario (Special Investigations Unit Team Lead), and Sally Frank (Anti-Exploitation Program Lead). The sessions highlighted how Block uses financial intelligence to support investigations and how our reporting helps law enforcement pursue cases of child exploitation.
Block also hosted a networking event during the conference to bring together law enforcement and NGO professionals combatting child exploitation. This was an opportunity to thank them for their critical work and to create space for connection and collaboration across the community.
While in Dallas, the team visited the Dallas Police Department to meet with their Internet Crimes Against Children and High-Risk Victims units. During the visit, we also donated clothing and blankets for children who are recovered from trafficking situations. In total, we assembled 30+ comfort sets, each including sweatpants, a sweatshirt, socks, underwear, and a blanket—essentials to help provide comfort in difficult moments.
The conference was an important opportunity to close the feedback loop with law enforcement, ensuring that the intelligence we provide is actionable and impactful. It also opened doors for new relationships and future collaboration.
At Block, we are committed to using our financial intelligence and resources to support the professionals who dedicate their lives to protecting children. We’re grateful for the chance to learn, share, and contribute at CACC and we look forward to building on this work in the months ahead.
