The Role

Cash App is seeking an innovative Senior Creative Strategist with a passion for performance-driven creative and a track record of delivering high-impact campaigns. As a key player on our Growth Marketing team, you will shape the creative strategy behind our performance marketing campaigns, leveraging data, customer insights, and bold creative thinking to drive new-customer growth. You will partner closely with senior marketers, media buyers, and both in-house and external creative teams to develop and refine best-in-class ad creative that drives measurable improvements in campaign performance.

The ideal candidate is deeply attuned to emerging trends in ad creative across platforms (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), shifts in audience behavior, and evolving market dynamics.  You will lead the development of strategic frameworks, articulate compelling creative briefs, and translate complex performance data into actionable insights that drive results. By combining creative thinking with a strategic understanding of the competitive landscape, you’ll inform and inspire creative decisions that keep Cash App ahead of the curve.

This role reports to the Creative & Content Strategy Lead and will be pivotal in shaping how Cash App acquires new audiences and achieves business results.

You Will

  • Develop and own a creative strategy that drives continuous optimization by leveraging historical data, competitive analysis, and customer insights
  • Craft compelling, insight-driven creative briefs that guide in-house and external creative teams in producing breakthrough ad content
  • Collaborate closely with art directors, copywriters, producers, and external agencies to ensure that all creative assets are aligned with strategic goals and performance best practices
  • Partner with media teams to design structured testing frameworks that drive continuous optimization and learning
  • Analyze creative performance data and translate insights into strategic recommendations, presenting findings to cross-functional stakeholders in an engaging and actionable manner
  • Track and synthesize emerging trends in platform-specific ad creative, consumer preferences, and competitor activity to proactively inform creative development
  • Push the boundaries of creative innovation, continuously testing and iterating to develop high-converting ad creatives across paid social channels (Meta, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
  • Be a leader in helping Cash App leverage AI and automation tools to streamline workflows and inform marketing strategies

You Have

  • 5+ years of experience developing and managing creative strategy for paid social and digital advertising campaigns
  • A deep understanding of performance marketing, with fluency translating performance data into actionable creative insights that inform strategy, optimize campaigns, and guide creative iterations
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex insights into clear, compelling narratives for creative teams and stakeholders
  • A strategic and creative mindset, with a proven ability to develop innovative approaches that drive measurable growth
  • A strong portfolio showcasing successful, insight-driven creative campaigns that have exceeded performance benchmarks
  • A passion for storytelling, with an understanding of how creative plays a pivotal role in customer acquisition and brand growth
  • Familiarity with full-funnel marketing strategies and their impact on brand and acquisition goals a bonus
  • Proficiency with creative analytics tools and methodologies a bonus

Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.
